Carol Alcusky has been teaching 23 years in Westborough in grades 2,3,5, and 7. She is currently a social studies teacher in grade seven, which is a perfect fit! She integrates her sense of humor and love of learning with the students. Her students see her as a true role model. Carol graduated with a BS in Elementary Ed and with a MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University. She loves the outdoors: downhill and x-country skiing, bicycling, and kayaking. She loves to people watch and is infatuated with color and design from fabrics to websites. Never wants to retire from teaching!

Tom Barnes

Tom Barnes has been the Technology Director for Palmer Public Schools since July 2001. Tom has been a member of MassCUE since 2001 and was the first Technology Director to assign high school student helpers to the MassCUE workshop. Tom is a member of the founding board of METAA and actively sits on the board of directors as a technology director mentor.

Tom has designed and overseen infrastructure upgrades to all Palmer schools networks since 2001.

Tom had Palmer High School SaTL (Students as Technology Leaders) team design the network for the Palmer Public Library in 2005, and it was the first time high school students designed a network infrastructure for a public library in the nation. This gained recognition on the Massachusetts State and Senate floor with an award for Palmer High School SaTL.

Tom is the Vice President of the Board of Directors in Palmer?s local broadcast television station M-PACT.

Tom was a former statewide IT project manager who worked for the RMV, DSS, DMR, DMH and State Police prior to his tenure with Palmer Public Schools.

Leo Brehm currently serves as the Director of Technology for the Sharon Public Schools in Sharon, Massachusetts. He is responsible for district-wide technology operations, planning, curriculum development, and professional development. Additionally, he manages the technology support team, network operations, communication and security systems. During his twelve-year career in educational technology, he has seen the particular needs of education change and he has implemented technology as solutions for educational demands. During his ten years in the Sharon School District he has actualized numerous technology initiatives in all aspects, from infrastructure to staff development, and has continued to lead the evolution of the District Technology Plan. He has a B.A. in Media and Public Relations and a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and currently serves on the MassCUE Board of Directors.

Dr. Edward Costa

Dr. Ed Costa is currently in his 11th year as superintendent of schools for the town of East Longmeadow. He has served two terms on the Executive Board for the State Superintendents Association and is currently the chairman for technology for the association. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Education Technology Advisory Council of the State Department of Education. In addition to his state participation and accomplishments, he is a frequent presenter at national conferences such as the American Association of School Superintendents and the National School Boards Association. He is the state technology administrator award recipient from both Massachusetts and Oklahoma. He is a frequently requested speaker on education technology, administrative accountability and strategic planning.

Donna Criswell is the Technology Curriculum Integration Specialist for the K-8 Sudbury Public School district. She supports teachers as they integrate technology into the curriculum by providing extensive training, curriculum development and modeling lessons in the classroom. She has presented at MassCUE, the Activ 08 Boston Summit and the Promethean User's Group conferences, the ACCEPT Collaborative Summer Institute and the EDCO Collaborative Technology Program. Dr. Willard Daggett

International Center for Leadership in Education

Willard R. Daggett, Ed.D., President of the International Center for Leadership in Education, is recognized worldwide for his proven ability to move education systems towards more rigorous and relevant skills and knowledge for all students. He has assisted a number of states and hundreds of school districts with their school improvement initiatives, many in response to No Child Left Behind and its demanding adequate yearly progress (AYP) provisions. Dr. Daggett has also collaborated with education ministries in several countries and with the Council of Chief State School Officers, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Governors Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and many other national organizations.

Before founding the International Center for Leadership in Education in 1991, Dr. Daggett was a teacher and administrator at the secondary and postsecondary levels and a director with the New York State Education Department, where he spearheaded restructuring initiatives to focus the state's education system on the skills and knowledge students need in a technological, information-based society.

Dr. Daggett is the creator of the Application Model and Rigor/Relevance Framework, a practical planning and instructional tool for determining the relevance of curriculum and assessment to real-world situations. Dr. Daggett?s Rigor/Relevance Framework has become a cornerstone of many school reform efforts throughout the United States.

Dr. Daggett is the author of six books about learning and education, 12 textbooks and numerous research studies, reports, and journal articles. He also serves on a number of advisory boards, including the USA Today Education Advisory Panel.

Dr. Daggett has spoken to hundreds of thousands of educators and education stakeholders in all 50 states. His enlightening, entertaining, and motivating messages have helped his listeners to look at education differently by challenging their assumptions about the purposes, benefits, and effectiveness of American schools. Dr. Daggett inspires his audiences both to embrace what is best about our education system and to make the changes necessary to meet the needs of all students in the 21st century.

Dr. Daggett has a special commitment to individuals with disabilities. He and his wife, Bonnie, volunteer their time and lend their support to Wildwood Programs in upstate New York. Wildwood serves the needs of people of all ages who, like their daughter Audrey, have neurological impairments/learning disabilities or autism, by enabling them to become the best that they can be.

    Barry Haskell

    Barry Haskell retired as Superintendent of the Plymouth Public Schools in June 2008. He spent 15 years in Plymouth serving as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator. He was a midlle school and high school teacher for 18 years. Barry was also the Head Softball Coach at Harvard University.

    On July 1st, 2008, Dr. Alan Ingram assumed duties as Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools, a district serving nearly 26,000 students in 47 schools. Previously, Dr. Ingram served as Chief Accountability Officer for Oklahoma City Public Schools, a district serving 38,000 students in over 80 schools. Dr. Ingram is a retired member of the United States Air Force and is a 2007 Broad Superintendents Academy Fellow.

    Theresa Rubico Jay is an engineer, educator, lecturer, and Director of Technology at Xaverian Brothers High School. She worked designing computer processing chips until her classroom experience teaching electronics began in 1994. By 1997 she was the Director of Technology in Arlington securing a half a million in technology grant funding. Theresa enjoys designing clever ways to integrate technology into the curriculum. She designed and built a digital language lab and started an Internet radio station for Xaverian. Theresa is currently overseeing tech integration into all the classrooms at Xaverian. Theresa has presented at workshops on Modern Language Web Tools and WHKS: Internet Radio at the MassCue and EdAccess conferences. She has published ?Modern Language Instruction in the web 2.0 World? in OnCue Spring 2008. Theresa holds a B.S. E.E. from Boston University and a M. Ed from UMass Boston. She is a member of MassCUE, ISTE and LinkedIn.

    Bob Milley

    Russ Rapose

    Annamaria Pisari Schrimpf is currently the Director of Educational Technology for the Winchester Public Schools. She is responsible for both the educational and technical aspects of technology throughout the district.     Jean Tower currently serves as the Director of Technology for the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough, a regional school district of ten schools serving the two towns, grades PK to 12. Jean is responsible for all aspects of technology in the schools administrative and instructional, planning, budgeting, and professional development. Her primary interest is in effective integration of technology in the curriculum and in creating the essential conditions to enable that to happen. Ms. Tower has over sixteen years of experience in educational technology, a BS in Computer Science, a Master?s degree in Critical and Creative Thinking, and is completing requirements for a CAGS in Educational Administration at Boston University. In 1986, Paul was promoted to Regional Sales Manager At Whalley Computer Associates. In 1987, the company?s rapid growth requiring additional management, Paul was named Vice President of Whalley Computer Associates. After well over twenty years in the industry with one of the leading Solution Providers in the United States, Paul?s knowledge, experience and vision is consistently sought by customers, manufacturers and technology publications. Paul is a former member of the HP and Epson Dealer Advisory Council and currently serves on the Advisory Boards for Dell, Lenovo, Oki Printing Systems and Toshiba. His opinions on technology issues are regularly sought by Computer Reseller News, VarBusiness Magazine along with many regional print and broadcast media.     Isa Zimmerman

    Isa Zimmerman, UMass STEM Initiative, was a teacher, a high school principal and superintendent of schools in six districts around Boston. She also leads a number of working/advocacy groups in the Commonwealth for technolgy in schools and the arts.
